Drove into Broken Hill about 930am this morning to top up supplies and do a bit of sightseeing.
Headed to the Info Centre to have a hot shower and fill up the water tanks. Decided to have breakfast at a cafe before heading onto Woollies for some groceries.
Whilst fill up the water tanks, Michael chatted to someone who mentioned the camping out at Menindee Lakes was amazing and the road into the site was in very good condition.
We decided to stay overnight at Menindee Lakes instead of back to Little Topar. It was a great choice. About 90kms of which 85 was bitumen all the way to the turnoff, and the last 5kms or so were very good quality dirt road.
There were literally hundreds of spots to camp along the waterfront so we found a spot down on the lake shore and setup camp for the night. The sand was really soft and we were probably going to get bogged getting out tomorrow but that is a problem for another day.
The afternoon and evening were so calm and peaceful with not even a breath of wind. As the night sky was so clear, we did a bit of stargazing before going to bed.
