Sunday morning at the Alice Springs Discovery Caravan Park is pancake morning. For a gold coin donation (going to RFDS) you can get a huge pancake and your choice of lemon, sugar, maple syrup, caramel sauce, strawberry sauce or chocolate sauce. And you can line up to get another.

It rained this morning - heavy but only for about 10 minutes.

Leaving Alice this morning going North - will stop somewhere before Devils Marbles so we can spend a bit of time there tomorrow. The road from Alice to the Devils Marbles is boring with no real scenery and mostly straight roads.

Decided to camp past Devils Marbles rather than before and drive back to it in the morning as it is very hot this afternoon. We had a very pleasant afternoon sitting in the shade and reading.

Lots of cars with vans have pulled in to the rest area we are staying at tonight. Glad we got here early as it is getting quite crowded. There appears to be a fire somewhere north of the rest area we are camped at tonight, so we are keeping watch in case we have to evacuate.
