Day 2 - Carrathool to Mildura
We left Carrathool around 9am and decided to get breakfast in Hay this morning. Found the only Cafe in town, which we had been to before on a previous trip.
Our destination today was Mildura, about a 4 and a half hour drive away. We traveled past many cotton fields and lots of trucks transporting big bales of the cotton crop. After arriving in Mildura, we did a bit of shopping to buy some oven stuff for dinner and a few other things. Decided to camp at Merbein Common camp area, about 7km out of town. Met a few of the locals who live permanently here. One guy was drunk as a skunk and as crazy as batshit, and took exception to us camping next to him. He tried to get all agro with us to make us move, but we told him that we were only staying overnight and would be leaving in the morning. He decided to run his generator and music most of the night to try and piss us off but it didn't work. He even came stomping around our campsite throughout the night and mumbled obscenities at us. Oh well, the people you meet in your travels.
Drove about 353km. The weather ranged from 2 to 13 today.
Tomorrow we have planned a cruise on the Murray River before we leave Mildura.
