There is nothing more welcome than the sight of an outback dunny when you are travelling remote.

Some are amazing, using the latest technology (yes there is much technology that goes into designing a functional outback dunny) and some are really very ordinary.

Some you think fondly of the days of the Covid mandatory mask and others you could sit in all day.

Some you add lime, others sawdust. All of them you close the lid when you are finished!!!!!

and you think you’ve won the lottery if they have toilet paper (you always go prepared just in case). Rarely is there any facilities to wash your hands - that’s done back at your car with lots of soap and hand sanitiser.
