Day 51 - That's not a knife
Another driving day today. It is about 400km from our overnight campsite to Winton, with not much to see in between.
We stopped at Cloncurry to do some shopping and fill the gas bottle. Also went to the bakery to buy some pies, which were OK, nothing special.
Back on the road, we did stop at a tiny little town (if you could even call it that) called McKinlay QLD. It's only claim to fame is the Walkabout Creek Hotel, from Crocodile Dundee movie fame. We stopped in to take a few photos in the pub, then hit the road again for the drive to Winton.
We arrived around 4pm, and found a campsite along the river at Mistake Creek, on the road to Lark Quarry. We are headed there tomorrow to go and see the dinosaur stampede, which we last saw 24 years ago. It will be interesting to see how much it has changed in that time.
